ABOUT ME

I am a BKIN BCAK, MM, RYT, Physical Institute Mat Pilates Instructor, FMS Level 1, NCCP Level 1.

 I specialize in movement.

You move everyday: maybe it feels great but maybe there is something that feels wrong. Maybe you are looking to get stronger, more flexible or create a routine in which to build. Whatever it is that gives you joy, I commit to moving you from a place of pain or discomfort to a greater, more stable you.

I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Master’s degree in Management.

Movement looks different for every body and often, the parts of movement we may have loved as a child can be lost as we age. I however, have always been intrigued by physical activity, having dipped my toes in so many sports while growing up. I never played at highly competitive levels, but this pressure-free environment actually helped expand my desire to further explore different avenues of moving my body. I set my own goals, without the pressure of external influences, and I have this lack of structure to thank for my continued love for so many different activities. From yoga, dance, soccer, field hockey, horseback riding, etc.,

I have over 15 years of cumulative experience, being immersed in a breadth of movement. I began coaching children, where I developed an eye and passion for physical literacy.

My curiosity drove me to ask questions: what makes everyone unique in the way they move? What is moving differently and how can I best support these unique patterns of movement to help  individuals retrain or curb unhelpful movement patterns? My degree in kinesiology helped me seek answers to these questions and what I didn’t learn from class, I supplemented with courses including my yoga and Pilates teacher training . Once I started teaching, I continued to further my learning with advanced alignment and adjustment courses, restorative training, and pre-natal fitness training.

Yoga has helped me to find a place of balance, and further develop a healthy  ‘give and take’ relationship between flexibility and strength: something most of us crave more of. I have found ways of linking these practices to enhance my training in running and road cycling where I  have now completed several half marathons and eight Gran Fondos. Let me help you achieve your physical activity goals, in a balanced and pain free way.

Let me help you fall in love with movement all over again, no matter what form and shape it takes.
